Our son Graham knows a little something about women. You see, he's been surrounded by attractive twenty-something women nearly his entire life. One of the advantages, I suppose, of having autism and requiring lots and lots of therapy, both at home and at school. The therapists we've hired through the years have largely been young college graduates, most all of whom have been full of energy, enthusiasm, love for children with disabilities, and good looks!
We learned recently that Graham has very distinctive tastes when it comes to the ladies he fancies. Recently, he met someone new at his school (a teacher at his school named Ms. Jovana). I am told by Graham's current therapist, Lori, that the first time he encountered Ms. Jovana, he just flipped for her -- couldn't stop staring at her, and grabbed his talker and madly introduced himself to her, telling her all about himself and his family. He sat quietly, evidently, the other day at school for nearly an hour-long assembly (a stunning accomplishment for this man-on-the-go who rarely sits still for more than five or ten minutes). The catch -- he was sitting next to Ms. Jovana, and was able to hold her hand for the entire assembly! Apparently, this kind woman has indulged Graham by paying him a good bit of attention in return. A match made in heaven!
