They came this morning to pick up our car, which will be shipped back to the states along with our household belongings. We most likely will not see these things again until the end of September or even the beginning of October. The guy filling out the paperwork for the car had his work cut out in terms of notating all of the scratches, bumps, dents, etc. on the car. Needless to say, our car took a beating over here. Driving a huge car in Belgrade is inadvisable, to say the least. However, it is just a car, and not to be fretted over too terribly much.
We're supposed to leave tomorrow, although a nasty virus sweeping the Richardson household is threatening to push our departure date back by a day or two. We'll see. The kids are ready to go. I am too, actually. The last few days in a place are hard, because they really are sad, if you're sad to be leaving the place. And I am sad to be leaving this place. So, I hope that we can get on the plane tomorrow, and start the next chapter in this journey we call life.

One of my friends took her Tahoe when their family transferred to Germany. I think they had some serious parking woes! I'll keep my fingers crossed you have a few cool days for car shopping. Nothing like getting in and out of cars on 100 degree days on a hot car lot!!

Love the bandaid analogy, Carrie. You're so right. Feeling better today so we're definitely homebound tomorrow. About the piano, we bought it here from the lady who lived in our house before us. Terrible instrument, but a beautiful antique; built in Vienna in the 1880s. Eventually we'll have it rebuilt so that it can be played. Looking forward to meeting you in person soon.
