Moving Day

Well, we did it. We're 'packed out,' as they say in the foreign service. This means that our "stuff" is in crates, and ready to be put on an airplane (800 lbs) or a ship (another 4,000 lbs or so), in order to make its way to our new (rental) digs in Nashville. We hope to see our air shipment the week of Aug. 9th, but do not expect to see the stuff coming by sea until the end of September or so. And, so it goes.

The move went smoothly. We had an excellent crew and all seemed to go well. As another foreign service spouse reminded me today, however, the success of a packout is always determined by how things look when they are unpacked, and whether things arrive intact, or not. Let's hope that everything is in one piece.
