In any event, the school's music teacher decided to have separate performances for different age groups, and so the 1st graders performed with the kindergarteners. As one might expect, this particular performance was priceless! The theme, much to Graham's delight, was traveling through the world on a choo-choo train, and so the kids performed songs representing different countries. Very cute, and very international. Virginia had a ball, and we all enjoyed watching her and her classmates.

With two Christmas concerts down, and one still to come (Graham and Mikayla's school will have its concert this Thursday night), the long-awaited snow finally decided to make an appearance in Belgrade. After weeks of unseasonably warm weather (and panic on my part that this might be the first winter ever in Serbia without snow), the snow began to fall this afternoon, and is predicted to continue for days. As you can see from the photos below, it already is a winter wonderland here. Beautiful. Having grown up in hot Florida, I do love snow, although having also lived in New Jersey for nearly six years, I am fully aware of what a pain in the behind it can be when you have to continue living your life (i.e. schleping through the stuff with three kids day in and day out) despite the inconveniences it presents. I think that most of us, nevertheless, have a fascination and love for snow that surely is driven, at least in part, by the sheer beauty of the stuff.
